چکیده

Teleoperation system performances suffer from the delays in the communications line. These delays are usually variable time delays. The customary wave variable technique used for constant time delays cannot provide satisfactory results to stabilize the system under variable delays. Another problem occurs in the position tracking performance of the limitedworkspace teleoperation systems. Although wave variable technique is proven to track position demands successfully under constant time delays given that there is no communication failure, position tracking performance also degrades under variable delays. In this paper, two components are presented to be used with the customary wave variable technique to stabilize the system and enhance the position tracking performance under variable time delays. The proposed controller is then applied to an identical master-slave teleoperation configuration which qualifies as a limited-workspace teleoperation system.

Delay-dependent stability for transparent bilateral teleoperation system: an LMI approach

There are two significant goals in teleoperation systems: Stability and performance. This paper introduces an LMI-based robust control method for bilateral transparent teleoperation systems in presence of model mismatch. The uncertainties in time delay in communication channel, task environment and model parameters of master-slave systems is called model mismatch. The time delay in communicatio...

Position Tracking Performance of a Redundant Teleoperation System

Teleoperation has captured the interest of robotics researchers for more than two decades. Many focused on the stability problem when the system experiences time delays. Most of the time, guaranteeing stability has overshadowed the tracking performance. This work differentiates teleoperation systems into two groups as limited and unlimited-workspace teleoperation depending on their position tra...

Applying Model Mediation Method to a Mobile Robot Bilateral Teleoperation System Experiencing Time Delays in Communication

Teleoperation systems consist of two subsystems namely, the master and the slave. Master is used by the human operator to send commands to the slave to achieve a task. In bilateral teleoperation, the interaction forces acquired from the slave sub-system is sent to the master to increase the level of tele-presence. In this kind of a setting, data has to be transferred through a communication lin...

Stability Control of Force-Reflected Nonlinear Multilateral Teleoperation System under Time-Varying Delays

A novel control algorithm based on the modified wave-variable controllers is proposed to achieve accurate position synchronization and reasonable force tracking of the nonlinear single-master-multiple-slave teleoperation system and simultaneously guarantee overall system's stability in the presence of large timevarying delays. The system stability in different scenarios of human and environment...
